In April, AVEK awarded grants to 9 production companies for the development or production of audiovisual works. Our new feature documentary God Is Tango, directed by Annika Grof, also received support for production developing.
AVEK supports f.ex. new audiovisual works with funds from the private copying levy, an important form of financing, especially for documentaries. We are concerned about the government’s plans to cut half of these funds, as this will have a very negative impact both on the personal livelihoods of creators and on the support funds earmarked for the promotion of culture. The cut will stifle the viability of the creative sector.
