Tarasow’s documetnarys at Hanko’s film festival *Hangon elokuvajuhlat* at 5th November

We are happy to inform that The Flying Fish is going to have the domestic premiere at Hangon elokuvajuhlat. Also the documentary Creative Destruction is going to be screened at the same day at Saturday 5th November 2016. The screening is free an both of the directors Anastasia Lobkovski and Ilkka Rautio will be there too! See you there!!

Lars Westerholm minns sommaren 2012 som om det var igår. Koverhars stålfabrik söktes i konkurs och Lars miste sitt arbete tillsammans med hundratals andra arbetare. Stålfabriken hade fungerat i 50 år och nu skulle den rivas. Hangö fastnade i den industriella strukturomvandlingens hjul.

Strukturomvandlingen och den kreativa förstörelsens mekanism orsakar problem men skapar också nya möjligheter. Hur hittar man nytt jobb åt de som blev arbetslösa efter Koverhar och hur skapar man en ljusare framtid för Hangö när de gamla strukturerna rasar?

Koverhar – documentary of the destruction

Koverhar - creative destruction

Ilkka was charmed by this old Koverhar steel factory at Hanko village. Actually Hanko is city, but it’s so tiny and cozy city next to the sea that it feels like village.

This old cinematic factory building has it own destiny which is defined by the changes of the structure of Finnish society. Ilkka started to film documentary of this Koverhar factory – the metamorphosis of tiny city.
